From the Cloud into the Program

Every timber builder knows the situation: He is right in the middle of his detailed planing and designing and for a particularly tricky detail he needs a special fastener. Great if it is already in the master data of his software and thus immediately available. Bad if he first has to get it manually and integrate it before he can use it because the master data is outdated.

With its new “data store” SEMA offers a solution: Master data can now be downloaded directly and super-fast from the cloud and then be quickly installed in the SEMA program. The online downloaded master data are then available for users ‘just in time’ in the master data manager and can be used efficiently right away.

In the first step, SEMA has included fastener master data of a number of commonly-used manufacturers as well as timber-framing specific master data into its cloud service and makes them thus available for SEMA users.

However, what’s even more important, master data downloaded and installed from the cloud are very easy to keep updated. There is nothing worse than using outdated or no longer valid master data - because at the latest when automatically generating order lists for the material this leads to problems.

As soon as an update of the master data of the manufacturer in question is available in the SEMA data store, the user gets a message in the Start Center when he starts the program. He can then, with just a few clicks, download the latest version and is up-to-date again.

For the future, SEMA plans to include further system master data and to continuously extent and enlarge the data store. The SEMA data store offers a simple and fast way to integrate topic-related master data folders for constructive system master data, materials and fasteners.
