SEMA at the Ligna 2015 in Hannover

From May 11th - 15th it was once again time for the Ligna trade fair for forestry, furniture manufacturing and timber construction. Since it only takes place every two years, the SEMA stand at the trade fair was busy and our team very much in demand. The importance of this trade fair is also reflected in the official trade-fair figures: 96,000 visitors in five days with 96% of visitors from the respective industries.

Many customers and potential customers from all over the world came to our stand to get a demo of the features of our brand-new version 15-2. Most popular were our automatically generated application plans with which the creation of storey plans and elevations of a building is possible in next to no time. Users just have to open the 3D view of the project, click the function and that’s it.

That also means that planners do not have to worry about it anymore if customers want changes quite late in the project - because images and plans can now be updated just by the click of a button. After the changes have been implemented in the construction, all elevations of the already finished plan can be updated with a click. That’s all. And even manual additions to the plans are retained and do not have to be entered again.

Another important topic at our trade-fair stand was the new software for metal roofers and tinsmiths with which SEMA has added another important trade to its product portfolio and entered a new field. And there was also a lot of interest in our stairs software - at the request of many users, our version 15-2 comes with a steel cut strings module.

Apart from all the technical news, our new CEO Alexander Neuss used the opportunity to get in contact with our partners, customers and people interested in our software. Together with him, the extended group of partners as well as the longtime SEMA team will continue the SEMA-characteristic consistent program development, excellent support und closeness to customers in the existing markets and at the same time expanded to new markets.

Every year SEMA re-invests 15% of the overall turnover into program development and thus has been able to provide all maintenance customers two times a year with a program update with new features for over a decade. These regular updates together with our well-coordinated sales and support team guarantee the successful further development of our company.

We would like to thank all visitors to the Ligna trade fair for their interest in our software and all partners for the constructive discussions and wish everyone in the industry a continuing successful year.
